Terms, Meaning and General Instructions

  1. This Selection Test is to become an Agniveervayu of IAF and is not for selection as Commissioned Officers/Pilots/Navigators/Airmen. The examination is valid for Agniveervayu: Intake – 01/2027 only.

  2. This Selection Test is for eligible "UNMARRIED" Male and Female Indian citizens.

  3. The testing procedure for recruitment as Agniveervayu in IAF consists of three phases as outlined below:-

  4. All successfully registered candidates will be issued with an Admit Card for STAR Phase-I on their respective e-mail IDs. The Admit Card can also be downloaded from candidates’ login ID. Marks scored by the candidates in STAR Phase-I testing will be “Normalised” by using the formula as published on the web site (https://iafrecruitment.edcil.co.in) to take into account variation in difficulty levels of the question papers across different sessions. Candidates are to note that the application of Cut-Off for shortlisting candidates for STAR Phase-II testing and preparation of Final Merit List for selection will be based on “Normalised Marks” and not on the “Actual Marks” scored by the candidate in STAR Phase-I testing. Further, on normalisation, marks scored by a candidate in a subject may become less/more than actual marks and more than total marks of that subject in exceptional cases.

  5. For STAR Phase-I Test: No original document/ photocopy is required to be carried by the candidates for appearing in STAR Phase-I online written test. Candidates are to carry only a colour printout of their Admit Card along with Aadhaar Card. Candidates from J&K, Ladakh, Assam and Meghalaya who have not opted for Aadhaar Card should carry a valid photo identity proof. Candidates are to read the instructions carefully and are to report at the exam centre as per date and time written on Admit Card. The result of STAR Phase-I and state-wise shortlisting for STAR Phase-II testing, based on individual’s performance in STAR Phase-I online test, will be uploaded in candidate’s individual Login on https://iafrecruitment.edcil.co.in.

  6. For STAR Phase-II Test: If shortlisted, Admit Card can also be downloaded from candidates’ login ID. All original documents/ certificates (as applicable) along with self-attested photocopies will be required to be produced for appearing in STAR Phase-II test. The relevant instructions will be printed on STAR Phase-II Admit Card. Candidates are to read the instructions carefully and to report with a colour printout of Admit Card, original documents/certificates and STAR Phase-I Admit Card along with application form at a designated ASC as per date and time written over it.

  7. Meaning of Air Force Personnel: A serving/ retired/ discharged/ deceased Air Force personnel i.e. Officer / Airmen / Agniveervayu/ NCs(E) or an Air Force Civilian paid out of Defence Services Estimates.

  8. Meaning of COAFP: COAFP means Children of Air Force Personnel.

  9. In the download section:-
    1. Form-I – Certificate for Children of serving Air Force Personnel (other than civilians).
    2. Form-II – Certificate for Children of serving/retired/deceased Air Force civilian employees.
  10. Note: For children of discharged/retired/deceased Air Force personnel, the following document (as applicable) will be required to be produced in original, when and if called for STAR Phase-II testing.
    1. Discharge Book issued in respect of Discharged personnel {Airmen/NCs(E)}.
    2. OR

    3. Service Book issued in respect of Retired Officers.
    4. OR

    5. Service Particular Certificate issued by DAV in respect of personnel {Airmen/NCs(E)} died while in service.
    6. OR

    7. Casualty Service Particulars Certificate issued by DPO-3 in respect of Officers died while in Service.
